Is the power out?
Power outages are handled by your electricity distributor, the network that owns the poles and wires in your area, not the retailer you pay. Find yours below and check its official outage map for your street.
Fallen powerline or someone in danger? Call 000. Stay at least 8 metres away from fallen lines and keep others away.
Quick checks before you report
- Look at your switchboard. If a safety switch has tripped and your neighbours still have power, the problem is probably inside your home. Call an electrician if it keeps tripping.
- Check whether neighbours or streetlights are out too.
- Not sure who your distributor is? It’s named on your electricity bill.
